Sharing Presidents Recognized for Excellence

Fourteen Sharing Presidents were accorded the Five Star Mark of Excellence by District Governor Renato “Ato” Magadia during recognition ceremonies held at the EPCIB/BDO Auditorium Tower 1, Makati City, Saturday May 31, 2008.

The awardees were:
SP Pepito Bengzon of RC Makati,
SP Lorna Orbe of RC Makati Bonifacio,
SP Chito Chavez of RC Makati JP Rizal,
SP Edith Carpio of RC Parañaque Metro,
SP Rico Ocampo of RC Makati Bel-Air,
SP Rey Madrid of RC Makati Dasmariñas,
SP Joe Reaño of RC Makati North,
SP Wash Roqueza of RC Makati Paseo De Roxas,
SP Erwyn Alcomendras of RC Makati San Lorenzo,
SP Louie Vega of RC Makati South,
SP Tito Peñaredondo of RC Las Piñas Camino Real,
SP Bobot Ramos of RC Parañaque East,
SP Liel Lino of RC Palanyang Parañaque, and
SP Jules Nidea of RC Rizal West.

They were recognized for achieving the hallmarks of a Total Quality Rotary Club during RY 2007-2008.

The District Governor likewise gave high praises to all the Sharing Presidents for their active and inspired club leadership.

DG Ato and Spouse Vicky also expressed their appreciation to all the Past District Governors and the Sharing Team of District Officers who worked with them in inspiring, guiding, and supporting the Sharing Presidents lead their Clubs to new heights of achievement.

DG Ato proudly stated “Our country and our world is a little better because Rotary cares and “Rotary Shares”.

Several Clubs also received the Governor’s Award of Distinction. These are:

1. RC Makati, Pres. Pepito Bengzon

For exceptionally sharing its resources to enable other Rotary Clubs to serve their respective communities through its Partners in Service Program (PSP), Books Across the Seas and Bicycle Distribution programs during RY 2007-08

2. RC Makati Central, Pres. Ed Manda

For his daring vision to initiate and implement the nationwide planting and propagation of the bamboo tree, a service project with significant long-term impact to the environment and the livelihood of a large number of beneficiary communities.

3. RC Makati Buendia, Pres. Uly Sevilla

In recognition of its outstanding achievement as the No. 1 Rotary Club in membership growth and development for RY 2007-08 as evidenced by a net gain of 31 new members or nearly 200% net increase in members

4. RC Makati North, Pres. Joe Reano

In recognition of its outstanding achievement as the top contributor to The Rotary Foundation (TRF) in terms of total amount (US$35,000) and per capita contribution (US$714) for RY 2007-08.

5. RC Makati Central, Pres. Ed Manda

For creating exceptional public awareness and positive projection of Rotary International’s care for the environment through its Bike-For-A-Cause Save Laguna de Bay and nationwide Bamboo Tree Planting and Propagation Projects.

6. RC Makati Metro, Pres. Dondi Sanz,

For creating exceptional public awareness and positive projection of Rotary’s public image and concern for leadership and service through its annual search for The Outstanding Philippines Soldiers (TOPS) in partnership with Metrobank Foundation

7. RC Makati San Lorenzo, Pres. Erwyn Alcomendras

For creating exceptional public awareness and positive projection of Rotary International’s quest for global peace and understanding through its Rotary Peace Award Program, a search for outstanding Filipinos who exemplify the promotion of peace and understanding

8. RC Paranaque East, Pres. Bobot Ramos

For creating exceptional public awareness and positive projection of Rotary International’s humanitarian service through its organized Health Care Program and its unique branding as “Doctor Rotary” making Rotary a byword in the communities they serve.

9. RC Puerto Princesa, Pres. Bobby Castro

For creating exceptional public awareness and positive projection of Rotary International through its unique partnership with the city government by undertaking collaborative service projects and significant city landmarks especially the “Princesa ng Baybay” Rotary monument at Puerto Princesa Baywalk.
