RC Puerto Princesa Cited for Mentoring the Mentors Project
The Rotary Club of Puerto Princesa under Sharing President Bobby Castro merited a good commentary by Dr. Maria Lim-Ayuyao in the April 21 issue of Philippine Daily Inquirer.
Cited was the role of Pres. Bobby and spouse Angie in co-chairing the Mentoring the Mentors working committee in Puerto Princesa and making the sessions run smoothly.
In her column, Dr. Ayuyao mentioned that it was RC Puerto Princesa that “invited the Foundation for Worldwide People Power (FWWPP) to conduct very special Mentoring the Mentors session for a select group of teachers from all over Palawan”.
Objective of the seminar was to put some order into the deteriorating education conditions in the Province by catalyzing the emergence of a new form of partnership between public education and the Palawan community’s education stakeholders. The education alliance is founded on mutual respect and unfied by a common goal: quality education.
Dr. Ayuyao, who is president of the FWWPP, further said that the project “augers well for Philippine education, because the FWWPP’s Puerto Princesa experience clearly shows that a partnership between public education and the private sector, premised on education quality, is eminently workable.”
