10th District Conference
This 10th District Conference is another page in Rotary’s continuing story. For 9 decades here in our country, this continuing stories of Love and Service has brought us to this culminating point where we are now just 1 decade away from the centennial of Rotary in the Philippines!
In the Handover last June, I spoke of this Rotary year being every Rotarians opportune time to serve and lead in light of our country facing a global economic downturn and an environmental malady called global warming that threatens our planet. We need to transform these challenges into opportunities so that we can, in our modest ways, help, as our country prepares to elect a new set of leaders this May. The Greeks have a word for this opportune time – Kairos. As Rotarians, we are constantly presented with the right time and opportunity or the kairos to make a difference as we have done in the District year in and year out.

The Rotary Club of Makati (RCM) and the Rotary Club of Parañaque East (RCPE) served as co-hosts of the program to formally launch this Rotary year’s District Conference, which is scheduled for March 19-20 at Sofitel Philippine Plaza. The launch was held at the SMX Center at the Mall of Asia on the 2nd of December, with PP Pepito Bengzon, SAG for Public Image, as emcee for that portion of the evening.
It was only right that RCM served as event co-host as it shall be the host of the DisCon itself, since the District Governor, Sid Garcia, is a member of the club.

Natutuwa kami at nagpapasalamt sa pagkakataong ito na magkakasama tayo—ang mga Rotary Community Corps at ang mga Rotary Club na sponsor nila—upang pag-usapan kung paano tayo makakapagtulungan para sa ikabubuti ng ating mga komunidad at ng ating bayan. Sa pamamagitan ng pagtitipon na ito, sabay-sabay tayong mag-iisip ng mga paraan ng pagsulong ng ating kapakanan at sa paglutás ng ating mga problema. Higit sa sinuman, kayo ang higit na nakakaalam ng inyong mga pangangailangan sa inyong mga poók; kayo ang nakakaintindi ng inyong situasiyon; kayo ang nakakaalam ng inyong lakas at kahinaan bilang isang komunidad. Inaasahan kong bubuksan ninyo ang inyong mga isipan at dadalhin ninyo sa ating pag-uusap mamaya ang inyong mga karanasan, kaalaman at saloobin tungkol sa inyong mga balak at mithiin para sa inyong komunidad.
